How to choose between air-cooled chiller and water-cooled chiller (below)? When the chiller is applied to equipment in various industries, the circulating cooling water is used to cool the equipment in the industry to ensure the equipment runs stably and safely. Today we will continue to talk about the differences between air-cooled chillers and water-cooled chillers following the previous article.
The air-cooled chiller uses an electric fan at the top to dissipate heat, and has certain environmental requirements such as ventilation, humidity, temperature not higher than 40°C, air pH, etc., while the water-cooled chiller cooling, the chiller must use the water from the water tower to dissipate the heat.
At the bottom of the air-cooled chiller, there are four universal wheels that can be easily moved and reduce floor space. The water-cooled chiller must be connected to a cooling tower before use. The chilled chiller occupies a large area and requires a machine room. Water-cooled chillers must be placed indoors.
The shell-and-tube condenser used in the water-cooled chiller has little effect on the heat exchange efficiency within a certain range of dirt accumulation, so the performance of the unit will decrease less when dirt is generated, the cleaning cycle is longer, and the relative maintenance cost will be lower. However, the heat transfer efficiency of the finned condenser used in air-cooled chiller is greatly affected by the accumulation of dust and dirt. Before the finned tubes, it is necessary to install a dust filter mesh to dissipate heat, and frequent cleaning is required. .
Due to the high operating pressure, the air-cooled chiller is generally installed outdoors and the operating environment is relatively harsh, it is inferior to the water-cooled chiller in terms of maintainability and reliability. If there is an alarm or temperature control problem in the machine, it is necessary to send an engineer to check it, and make a repair proposal according to the local situation, so the maintenance cost of water-cooled chiller and air-cooled chiller also depends on the specific situation.
Both air-cooled and water-cooled chillers are widely used in the industrial refrigeration industry. If you choose a chiller for a real plant, you still need to consider different operating conditions, temperature control ranges, required cooling capacity, heat dissipation, etc. Consider all factors to choose an air-cooled chiller or a water-cooled chiller.
